Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Liverpool Muslim Society to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Liverpool Muslim Society we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Liverpool Muslim Society to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Liverpool Muslim Society will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Liverpool Muslim Society receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

The Liverpool Muslim Society (LMS) main source of income is from collections on Friday prayers, properties, and the generous donations received from worshipers during congregations. Our vision for LMS is to always be fully self-sustainable and have its own successful investments. We need your help while we are working toward LMS vision.

Your generous donation will enable us to continue providing the following crucial support:

  1. Caring for the vulnerable: With your help, we can continue to offer vital assistance to the elderly, people with disabilities, and low-income families in our community, ensuring they have access to food, clothing, and other necessities.
  2. Renovating properties: We are currently working on several projects to improve and maintain our properties. Your donation will help us complete these initiatives, creating safe and welcoming spaces for all members of our community.
  3. Honouring financial contracts and utility services: As we navigate these challenging times, your contribution will ensure that we can fulfil our financial commitments, including salaries for our dedicated staff, as well as keeping essential utilities running at the mosque.
  4. Preserving essential services: Your generosity will allow us to keep the mosque open for essential services, such as Janazah (funeral), Madrasah and Tahfeed, providing comfort and solace to our community during these significant life events.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of our fellow community members and ensure that the Liverpool Muslim Society remains a vibrant, supportive, and nurturing environment for all.

Please support us to keep LMS running and donate generously.

Donate now and make a difference in the lives of those in need during the sacred month of Ramadan.

As the blessed month of Ramadan 2023 graces us, we at the Liverpool Muslim Society are proud to announce our Iftar Sayum Appeal 2023. Ramadan is a time of spiritual growth, self-reflection, and compassion for those less fortunate. In line with these values, our appeal aims to ensure that everyone in our community can partake in the nourishing meals of Iftar and Suhur, regardless of their financial situation.

Our Iftar Sayum Appeal 2023 focuses on providing Iftar (the evening meal to break the fast) and Suhur (the pre-dawn meal before fasting) to those in need within our community. With your generosity, we can make a real difference in the lives of low-income families, refugees, the homeless, and anyone facing difficulties during this holy month.

How You Can Help: By contributing to our Iftar Sayum Appeal 2023, you are not only helping to provide nutritious meals but also fostering a sense of unity and compassion within our community. Every donation, no matter the size, has a significant impact. You can sponsor a whole evening of Iftar, feeding 250+ people, for only £900.

Your donations will go directly towards purchasing, preparing, and distributing wholesome meals to those who would otherwise struggle to access them during Ramadan.
